The RDKB is seeking applications for the new Retrofit Program Coordinator position. This is a 2-year contract position, designed to support the implementation of our low carbon resilient retrofit program, which focuses on improving the energy efficiency, climate-resiliency, and climate preparedness of homes in the Regional District. Reporting to the Senior Energy Advisor, the successful candidate will work four days per week.
As a member of the Environmental Services team, the Retrofit Program Coordinator will be a key point of contact and support for residents through their energy and resiliency retrofit journey. They will ensure that residents are aware of the services, systems and supports available to them, help connect them with information, resources and assessments, and provide guidance on available upgrades. The successful candidate will possess passion and considerable knowledge of energy conservation, climate action & resilience in the home, as well as excellent customer service skill, using them to promote uptake and implementation of the retrofit program throughout the Kootenay Boundary region.

While most work will take place in the Trail Administration Office, this position will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to successfully deliver the program and conduct community events.
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess:
- A suitable combination of qualification or experience, including:
- Degree or diploma in energy, climate action, building science, environmental or engineering
- 3-5 years’ experience in climate resilience and energy initiatives, project coordination and customer service
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Considerable experience in program development and implementation
- Experience coordinating and managing projects
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
