NUISANCE MOSQUITO CONTROL PROGRAM

Project Description: The primary purpose of the RDKB Nuisance Mosquito Control Program is to reduce the duration and magnitude of nuisance mosquitos to tolerable levels. The Program does this by focusing on mosquito larvae control methods including public education, monitoring, and biological control including the use of non-residual bacterial larvicides. The RDKB is seeking Proposals from qualified, experienced companies to complete works associated with Mosquito population control for the following regions:
1. Regional District of Kootenay Boundary Electoral Area ‘C’ Christina Lake; and
2. Regional District of Kootenay Boundary Electoral Area ‘D’ and the City of Grand Forks.

RDKB Boundary Animal Control Service
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL RDKB-Animal Control in the Boundary
The RDKB is seeking an experienced contractor for the provision of animal control services to operate from the RDKB animal control facility in Grand Forks, BC. It is expected that respondents to this RFP will have demonstrated history in the provision of bylaw enforcement with specific skills, education and training related to animal control.
Further expectations will be to ensure that the ‘RDKB’ Animal Control Service is effectively promoted in the region and the contractor will be the leading contact for all community enquiries and education.
The successful proponent will provide all necessary materials, labour, training, supervisions, uniforms, vehicles, and equipment needed to carry out and perform the services.
Proponents are asked to provide a proposal and pricing for the service as described in the complete RFP.
The following services, in accordance with RDKB Bylaw No. 1550, 2014, (attached hereto as Schedule A) and RDKB Bylaw No. 1742, 2021 (see website for further information), are to be provided by the successful proponent:
• Patrolling the service area regularly
• Provide a methodology and program for community outreach, awareness and education, which may include:
- Social media, website or other
- Presence at local community events
- Other information and material to inform public about animal control services
• Providing at least one (1) patrol vehicle, marked according to the instructions of the RDKB
• Receiving and investigating complaints from the public and municipalities and electoral areas within the service area
• Taking appropriate and authorized enforcement measures as stipulated by the Bylaw
• Operating and maintaining the animal control facility in a manner consistent with the humane treatment of animals
• Providing various sized humane animal traps for problem animals that can’t be caught by any other manner
• Carrying out humane euthanasia on animals in accordance with the Bylaw
• Collecting and delivering animal license fees to the RDKB for dogs in accordance with RDKB Bylaw No. 1073, 1999 (attached hereto as Schedule B)
• Maintaining and providing to RDKB a record of activity and quarterly reports

Project Description:
The Grand Forks Aquatic Centre is a year-round, indoor aquatic centre, directly serving 8,611 residents of Grand Forks, and Electoral Districts ‘C’ and ‘D’ of the RDKB. The Aquatic Centre is also the biggest consumer of utilities of any facility owned by the RDKB. With expected emissions reduction of 203 tonnes CO2, or 60%, the project meets the Regional District’s Board of Directors strategic priority of fostering Climate Action and Environmental Sustainability.
The RDKB is seeking Proposals from qualified, experienced companies to complete works associated with energy efficiency upgrades and retrofit at Grand Forks Aquatics Centre. The work will be constructed at the Grand Forks Aquatics Centre, located at 7231 19th St, Grand Forks, British Columbia, V0H 1H0 (the “Work Site”).

Expression of Interest for BC registered Engineers and Geoscientist qualified to complete a Flood Hazard Assessment focused on Alluvial Fans.

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) is compiling a list of Qualified Professionals capable of conducting a site-specific Flood Hazard Assessment (FHA) in areas impacted, or could be impacted, by flooding, alluvial fans, debris floods and debris flows. This list is primarily being assembled to support FHAs in the Boundary Region.
The RDKB has produced a Terms of Reference (TOR), accessible through the website link below, outlining the standards and qualifications necessary to complete a RDKB FHA on Alluvial Fans. The forthcoming list will include companies and consultants who have self- identified as qualified to complete an FHA, stamp and sign the FHA Report, and are available for projects in the Boundary region.
