Landfill

The RDKB operates landfills as a location to dispose of municipal solid waste (MSW). For environmental and safety reasons, landfills exclude many materials you may still want to get rid of. To find out how to dispose of banned materials, please contact the RDKB  for assistance.

Landfills for Local Use Only

  • Find your local landfill or transfer station here
  • Solid waste from outside the area served by that waste site won’t be accepted!
  • We need to make the capacity of each landfill last!

Waste Facility Details

Location: 1900 Hwy 3B, Trail.

Hours: 
OPEN: Weekdays: 7am to 5:00 pm - Weekends: 10 am to 5:00pm
CLOSED: Statutory Holidays.
PAYMENT ACCEPTED: Cash, Visa, Master Card, Debit.

Can recycle:
* All paper products including corrugated cardboard, mixed waste paper, newspaper, metal cans
* all rigid plastic containers #1 to #7, 
* glass containers , 
* scrap metal and white goods, 
* empty propane tanks up to 100lbs, 
* clean wood waste, 
* leftover paint, pesticides, solvents and residual fuels. 

Please note all refundable beverage containers are banned from the landfill and the recycling program. Please return for refund.

Landfill Tipping Fees

Tipping fees changed as of Jan. 1st 2021.
Please take note of the first phase of tipping fee increases for household garbage and source separated organics. Tipping fees for household garbage changed from $110 per tonne to $120. The tipping fee for source-separated organics increased from $40 to $55.
